The first, second and third rules of Fight Club are that you do not talk about Fight Club. While no one was injured in the making of this project, I am still covered under a tidy non-disclosure agreement. FreeAssociation was retained very early in the development process to explore concepts, features and interactions for a new Google product. Our work could shape a future product release or an operating system update — or it may never see the light of day.
Through the course of the project, I became intimately familiar with Google's material design specifications, I learned to love the Android OS and I earned an appreciation of the non-stop Google work ethic. Googlers are passionately focused on end user experience and their passion shows.
Our deliverables included tools for freelance producer Tatyana Penalba and her manager Tim Queenan to present the findings and barrage of brainstormed alternatives — a slidedeck, posters and other visuals as well as a functional prototype of the product. I was retained by Free Association as a client-facing project manager to coordinate the development of our assets, including the prototype.
