South Korea — 2015
My grandfather is a Korean War veteran. We began the process for him to revisit Korea in 2014 and were able to join a Military Historical Tours trip in July 2015. The Korean government hosted veterans from all 13 of the countries involved in the conflict. We stayed in Gangnam, outside of Seoul, visiting the Olympic Village, National Cemetery and National Museums. We also had the opportunity to visit the Demilitarized Zone that separates North and South Korea, Kaesŏng and Incheon.

Hawaii — 2012
Though I've not included other domestic travel on this list, Hawaii is an exception. Highlights included hiking to the summit of Diamond Head, staying in beautiful Waikiki, sipping brews at Kona Brewing Company and visiting Pearl Harbor museum and monuments. |
Puerto Rico — 2014
I had the opportunity to accompany a friend on a vacation to San Juan in 2014. Though we stayed in Condado, we visited San Juan Viejo (old San Juan) and El Yunque National Forest. Highlights included exploring the old fort at the tip of Old San Juan — el Castillo San Felipe del Morro. |
Ireland — 2013
I travelled to Ireland while working for Hewlett-Packard to visit members of our team based in Liexslip, about 45 minutes outside of Dublin by car. My team was generous enough to allow me a few extra days to explore the city of Dublin and took me hiking near the monastic ruins of Glendalough.
